Once a year, St. Johns County students participate in an art and poetry contest sponsored by Betty Griffin Center to promote “A Day Without Violence”. This annual contest focuses on peace in the home. Pieces of art and poems are selected for their annual calendar known as “A Day Without Violence”.
The general public will have an opportunity to enjoy some of the top entries submitted to this contest that is sponsored by the St. Johns Cultural Council. The art will be hung in the Rotunda Gallery of the St. Johns County Administration Building. The exhibit can be viewed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
There was an opening reception for this exhibit on Tuesday, October 3, from 8:15-9:00 am, just before the Board of County Commissioner’s meeting. All were invited to enjoy refreshments, while viewing the show.
