St Johns Cultural Council (SJCC) is putting up a workshop/presentation for musicians. Its goal is to get musicians to have some better understanding on gigs, pay, tours and so much more. Louise Anderson, a certified public accountant, will present this lecture and will address how to choose the right business structure for your art company, creative partnership, or cooperative. She will speak about tax returns, tax on sales, and tax deductions. Louise will also provide information on handy, online accounting tools and tips for your art business.
Louise is a CPA with Carr, Riggs & Ingram LLC, an accounting and business advising firm with offices in St. Augustine and Gainesville, and she provides consulting and tax services to small business and individual clients in the Northeast Florida area. She writes articles for various publications and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). Louise is also active in her service and leadership in the community. This free workshop will be provided on Saturday April 7th, 2018, from 1030am to 1230pm at the St Johns Cultural Council on 15 Old Mission Ave, St Augustine, FL. Do not miss it. The St Johns Cultural Council (SJCC) provides mini grants of up to $500 for arts and cultural activities within St. Johns County, FL. Funding is made possible through revenue from the sale of State of the Arts (SOTA) license plates in St. Johns County. Priority will be given to proposals for activities that reach underserved audiences, arts education, and art in public places. Organizations, artists and schools may apply for new or expanded programs in the following disciplines: arts in education, music, dance, folk arts, humanities, literature, film/video/media, theatre and musical theatre, visual arts, or the collection or exhibition of cultural or artistic works. Proposals are evaluated on uniqueness, quality and impact. This workshop will help you understand the process, how to qualify, and how to apply by filling the grant.

The St Augustine Distillery was educating the public by having bartender Anthony Auger show them the basic arts of the bar. This event was held on Dec. 12th & 19th, just before the holidays.
